FUN STUFF: NOVEMBER!

Starting off with a fun announcement: Sour Cherry Comics will have a booth at Fanexpo at Moscone Center on Thanksgiving weekend! This is a great opportunity and I can’t wait for us to show a larger community of comics fans all the great stuff that we have to offer – with our events, and the wide variety of LGBTQ+ comics available!

As a result, the schedule for November outside of Fanexpo will be a little more sparse than usual.

Thursday, Nov. 3 @ 6:00 pm: Sewing Party! Bring your own stuff for hand-sewing and hang out with other ~crafty queers~

Saturday, Nov. 5 @ 6:00 pm: Powerpuff Poetry Club! Reading & writing exercises

Sunday, Nov. 6 @ 7:00 pm: All-genre Writing Group @ Silver Sprocket 1018 Valencia st.

Tuesday, Nov. 8 @ 6:00 pm: Creative Non-Fiction Writing Group

Thursday, Nov. 10 @ 6:30 pm: Table Read of contemporary queer play (title TBD)

Saturday, Nov. 12 from 1-5 pm: Black & Pink Letter Writing! The lovely folks from B&P Bay Area Chapter: Flying Over Walls will be joining us from 1-5pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided) – be sure to also check out the graphic novels, zines, and books from A.B.O Comix! ABO Comix is a publisher that works with incarcerated queer/trans comrades and produces their art, writings, etc – all profits go to supporting the prisoners. Read more here.

Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 pm: YA LGBTQ+ Book Club – reading Clementine Book One by Tillie Walden. If you liked Tillie’s other works, On A Sunbeam, Spinning or Are You Listening, you may want to tune in to this month’s book club where we will be reading and discussing her new book, Clementine, which will be the first in a trilogy.

Nov. 25 – 27: FANEXPO! Vinnie & Aster will be holding down the shop while I am at a booth at Fanexpo’s first San Francisco appearance. If you want to get tickets AND support the shop while doing so, please consider purchasing your tickets through the QR code below (you can also find this on the POS station at the store!)
