Well well well.. It appears Spooky Season is here. Halloween is one of the HIGH HOLIDAYS in my book, so you can expect a few fun things in the store. Be sure to pay special attention to more announcements regarding the Halloween Weekend (also known as Halloweekend) 10/29 & 10/30. We are putting together a really cute & fun weekend AND incorporating some other local queer businesses (eyes emoji.jpeg) — so be on the lookout for more info regarding that business but let’s get into the rest of the month, shall we?
Saturday, Oct. 1 @ 5-7 pm: Short Story Workshop with author of “We Won’t Be Here Tomorrow” Margaret Killjoy – I am VERY excited about this one! Her new book is phenomenal and I can’t wait to hear her talk about writing. RSVP is required for the workshop (last I checked there were 3 spots left) so please be sure to book ASAP if you’re trying to get into the workshop but the workshop will also be followed by a book signing from 7-8pm that is open to the public, no RSVP required.
Sunday, Oct. 2 @ 7 pm at Silver Sprocket 1018 Valencia St: All-genre writing group – timed writing & sharing (optional). Back at Silver Sprocket this month!
Thursday, Oct. 6 @ 6:30 pm: Sewing Party! Bring your own hand sewing projects (there are extra needles + thread at the store if you need them)
Saturday, Oct. 8 @ 1-5 pm: Black & Pink Letter Writing! The lovely folks from B&P Bay Area Chapter: Flying Over Walls will be joining us from 1-5pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided) – be sure to also check out the graphic novels, zines, and books from A.B.O Comix! ABO Comix is a publisher that works with incarcerated queer/trans comrades and produces their art, writings, etc – all profits go to supporting the prisoners. Read more here.

Saturday, Oct. 22 @ 7:00 pm: Full Queer Folsom Watch Party! The Full Queer wrestling group has incredible video footage from their matches at the Folsom Street Fair stage – if you missed it in-person, here’s your chance to see them surrounded by fellow queer community members (slightly less nudity at this event).

SUNDAY: Artist pop-up! Costume contest! Remember Free Comic Book Day / Sour Cherry Con? Something like that but more SPOOKY! Stay tuned for more information as we coordinate with other local merchants such as Milk SF and Silver Sprocket…!
