Here’s the schedule for February! We are doing something new with Poetry – since the zine making workshops and arts/crafts activities have been so popular, we are blending that with the poetry workshop this month. Expect more of this in the future~
Thursday, Feb. 2 @ 6:00pm: Sewing night!
Sunday, Feb. 5 @ 7:00pm: All-genre writing group at Silver Sprocket, 1018 Valencia st. This is an all-levels, all-genre writing group that is generally focused on writing exercises that have a focus on short fiction with timed writing and optional sharing.
Weds., Feb. 8 @ 6:30pm: Signing with Poison Ivy Cover Artist Jessica Fong! Free print included with donations of $15 (to be purchased through Eventbrite) – all donations go to LYRIC.org.
Saturday. Feb. 11 from 1-4pm: Black & Pink Letter Writing! The lovely folks from B&P Bay Area Chapter: Flying Over Walls will be joining us from 1-5pm so come on down and write a birthday card to one of our queer/trans incarcerated comrades! (supplies provided) – be sure to also check out the graphic novels, zines, and books from A.B.O Comix! ABO Comix is a publisher that works with incarcerated queer/trans comrades and produces their art, writings, etc – all profits go to supporting the prisoners. Read more here.
Sunday, Feb. 12 from 4-6:00pm: Theatrical Table Read! Calling all theater people: here’s your chance to take part in an amateur table read of a queer focused play from a local playwright. If you would like to submit your own play for a future event like this, please make a note to attend and talk to Luna about your work.
Tuesday, Feb. 14 @ 6:30pm: Creative Non-fiction workshop… Valentine’s Day edition! YIKES!! haha
Weds., Feb. 15 @ 6:00pm: Poetry Zine-Making workshop and Artist/Writer collaboration! Calling all artists & poets: Let’s get together and collaborate on some poetry zines! We’ll be making folded zines and connecting with other creatives. Please sign up through Eventbrite.
Fri., Feb. 24 @ 6:00pm: Draw Jam! Sign up on Eventbrite.
