SPOOKY STUFF IN OCTOBER!

Well well well… It’s officially time to pull the skeletons out of the closet, heat up the pots of cider, and get cozy with your favorite halloween flicks (Practical Magic, Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus…) – if you’re like me, you’re also looking for a new horror novel or comic to sink your teeth into.. Werewolves and vampires are a plus..! If you’re like me and looking for some spooky reads this season, come on down and ask around! We have so many recommendations for you.

Spooky season schedule is upon us.. so let’s not delay! But one thing before I get the schedule out – we have some NEW HOURS! We are reverting back to only being open on Tuesdays from 2pm to 8pm. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Friday and Saturday we will be open 11-8pm. Please note that at times when it is slow on a Thursday/Friday night we might close around 7/7:30.

Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6:30pm: Signing & Chat with author Maggie Tokuda-Hall in celebration of the release of her NEW book: “The Siren, The Song and the Spy” which is a sequel to her book “The Mermaid, The Witch and the Sea” – and one that I absolutely recommend. It is a phenomenal action adventure novel about a lesbian princess (sorta), genderfluid and nonbinary pirate, and some incredible worldbuilding and fantasy story telling that will have you on the edge of your seat. Maggie will also be discussing her graphic novel, “Squad” and her book “Love in the Library”. While registration is not necessary, we have created an Eventbrite page which includes tickets for $15 that get you a special bag of goodies from the store!

Thursday, Oct. 5 from 6-8pm: Queer Crafting / DIY night! Bring your own projects (they can be anything you are working on!) and hang out with us at the table in the back. Please register on eventbrite as space is limited (free to register!).

(supplies provided) – be sure to also check out the graphic novels, zines, and books from A.B.O Comix! ABO Comix is a publisher that works with incarcerated queer/trans comrades and produces their art, writings, etc – all profits go to supporting the prisoners. Read more here.
